Accessibility Statement

Last updated: February 2026

WPDesigns is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards. This statement outlines our efforts and the measures we take to ensure our website is accessible.

1Our Commitment

We believe that the internet should be accessible to all people, regardless of ability or disability. We strive to ensure that our website meets or exceeds the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility is not just a compliance requirement for us β€” it is a core part of how we design and build websites for our clients. We practise what we preach by maintaining high accessibility standards on our own website.

2Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy for screen reader navigation
  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the entire website
  • Visible focus indicators for interactive elements
  • Alternative text for all meaningful images
  • Responsive design that works across all devices and screen sizes
  • Dark mode and light mode options for visual comfort
  • Clear and consistent navigation structure
  • Form labels and error messages that are programmatically associated with their controls
  • Skip navigation links for keyboard users
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second

3Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

We also follow the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 where applicable.

4Testing and Evaluation

We regularly test our website for accessibility using a combination of:

  • Automated testing tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse)
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Colour contrast analysis
  • User testing with people who have disabilities
  • Regular code reviews focused on accessibility

5Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to address them:

  • Some older blog post images may lack descriptive alternative text β€” we are progressively updating these
  • Some third-party embedded content (such as maps or booking widgets) may not be fully accessible β€” we work with providers to improve this
  • PDF documents may not be fully accessible β€” we are working to provide HTML alternatives where possible

6Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Switch access devices
